He is survived by: his wife Karen Elliott; his daughter Stephanie Fitzgerald Hobbs (Scott); his grandchildren, Zachary Scott Hobbs (Angela) and Ashlyn Michelle Hobbs; his great grandchild Payton May Hobbs; and his siblings, Kevin Fitzgerald, Kerry Fitzgerald and Pam Weimer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's memory may be made to the IPF Foundation.
