He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jean Adele, Fredrick Joseph and Virginia Elizabeth (Nan Helen); his son Fredrick Mark (Mary); and his close friend Pat.

He is survived by: his son Joseph William (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Virginia, David, Bradna Bowers of Charlotte and Madalyn Diane Kern; and his nephew James Burdette (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL.

The family requests no flowers but instead suggests any gift be made to a Hospice Program of choice.
