He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Cassady and Estelle W. Cassady; his wife Patricia H. Cassady; his brothers, Charles Cassady and Harold Cassady; his granddaughter Ashley Elizabeth Cassady; and his son-in-law David Broerman.

He is survived by: his children, Denise Cassady Morrison (Tim) of Waxhaw, John Cassady (Angie) of Mooresville and Cheryl C. Broerman of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Margaret M. Blemaster (Tom), Meredith Morrison, Preston Morrison (Kristen), Patrick Morrison, Kelly C. Allen (Sam), MacKenzie Cassady, Tanner Cassady (Ashley), Ian Broerman, Charlie Broerman and Cassady Broerman; his great grandchildren, Paisley Allen, Saylor Allen, Daphne Blemaster and Miles Morrison; his sisters, Helen C. Team and Janet C. Todd (Rusty); and his sister-in-law Barbara P. Cassady. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
