He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Whitfield and Linnie Whitfield (Linda); his brother Bruce Whitfield; his brother-in-law Tim Upchurch; and his son-in-law Jeremy Stilley.
He is survived by: his wife Sondra Whitfield of White Cross; his children, John Thomas Whitfield, Marie W. Stilley, Brian Keith Whitfield and Stephanie Diane Whitfield; his grandchildren, Miko and Jilly Stilley; his siblings, James (Joyce), Lyndon Whitfield (Karen) and Lucy Upchurch; and his brother-in-law Robbie Madden. He is also survived by his four children and two grandchildren.
