She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Stroud Ward and Mittie Lloyd Ward; her husband Charles Harold Horne Sr.; and her brothers, Andrew (Louise), Lloyd (Reba), William (Alice), Howard (Lula Mae) and Robert.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles Harold Horne Jr. (Mae) and Kenneth Ward Horne (Linda) of Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Tim Horne, Lisa Clatworthy (Michael), Chris Horne (Laura), Kelley Horne (James) and Daniel Horne; and her great grandchildren, Kyle Carlson, Taylor Gilson, Eli Horne, Knox Horne, Amaya Horne, Charlie Horne, Carter Zorn, Adilyn Zorn, Deacon Zorn, Cooper Horne and Cora Horne.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in honor of Mary Ellen Horne to the charity of one's choice.
