She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene C. Drogos; and her children, Helen Drogos, John Eugene Drogos (Kathy), Richard Michael Drogos (Kay) and Mark David Drogos (Linda).
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Marchman (Philip) of Raleigh; and her grandchildren, Will Gunter (Shawna), Caroline Gunter, Lauren Cochran (Chad), Michael Lynch (Lian), Fletcher Drogos (Britt), Jordan McEwen (Tony), Justin Drogos (Lauren), Ryanne Drogos, Masie Drogos and David Drogos. She is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In 2004, Governor Mike Easley awarded her The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest award given to a citizen of North Carolina "for their significant contributions to the state and their communities through their extraordinary service and accomplishments".
