With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Essell R. Womble of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, who passed away on August 27, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Womble and Mildred Womble; his brother Numa Womble; and his brother-in-law Dick Stevens. He is survived by: his wife Martha Womble; his son Danny Womble (Pam); his sisters, Irene Stevens and Brenda Kirby (Bill); and his sister-in-law Madeline Womble.

Private services are being held due to the covid pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cole-Womble Family Cemetery, 2916 Damascus Church Rd., Chapel Hill, NC 27516 or to a favorite charity.
