With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald James Heineman (Chapel Hill, North Carolina), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on February 7, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond J. Heineman and Louise M. Heineman; his wife Rose; his children, Justin Heineman (Debbie) and Kate Cheshire (Scott); his granddaughters, Grace Louise Heineman and Katherine Sarah Heineman; and his cousin Mary Lu O'Malley (Dennis). He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews in Chicago, and his many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to UNC's Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals, or the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
