He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Joyner Crandell. He is survived by: his children, Martha Crandell (David Hebert) of Chapel Hill, Sue C. Felton (David) of Chapel Hill, Clifton Crandell Jr. of Chapel Hill, Maribeth Crandell of Freeland and Carolyn C. Koch of Firestone. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
