He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Hewett and Naomi Hewett; and his brother Marvin G. Hewett. He is survived by: his wife Lois Davis Hewett; his son Danny Odell Hewett; his grandchildren, Kara Danielle White and Brandon Avery Hewett; his great grandchild Cayden Ray White; and his siblings, Donna Squires (Johnny), Diane Witham (George) and Kenny Ray Hewett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
