With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stewart E. Mills of Cerro Gordo, North Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2025 at the age of 53. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Stewart may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Stewart touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie R. Mills and Peggy Ann Carter Coley; and his brother Timothy Gurganus. He is survived by: his wife Cressie Batten Mills; his children, Whitney Michelle Batten (Ricky Jones) and Joshua Stewart Mills (Natalie Coe); his grandchildren, Raylee Mae Mills and Emma Grace Spence; and his brother Gregory Mills (Michelle).
