He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughn Talmadge Sheppard and Laura Belle Carpenter; his daughter Julie Sheppard; his granddaughter Angel Smathers; and his siblings, Bobby Sheppard, William Sheppard (Judy) and Carolyn Sheppard Garner (Horace).
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Marie Trull; his daughters, Cheryl Scott (Dewayne), Denise Sheppard (Tim McGinnis), Vickie Thomas (David) and Elyca Sheppard; his brother Harold Sheppard (Brenda); his sister-in-law Shirley Sheppard; his grandchildren, Jared Morgan (Stephanie), Jess Scott (Stephanie), Austin Morgan (Meggan), Cortney Dockins (Ben), Chelsea Scott, Toss Smathers, Taylor Mease (Hunter), Ben Smathers, Nelsie Smathers and MaryJane Smathers; his great grandchildren, Josie, Jacob, Mackenzie, Ross, Braxton, Sawyer of Paislee, AJ and Declan; and his close friends, Levi Henson and Heath Smathers. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
