He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Lee Campbell; his parents, David Filmore and Minnie Palestine Edwards (Henson); and his siblings, Frank, Jack, Ruth, Ethel, Mary, Winnie and Jesse.
He is survived by: his daughters, Toni Kirby (Tommy) of Pacolet, SC and Cynthia Eledge (John) of Port St; and his grandchildren, Chris Kirby (Nicole) of Oakboro, NC, Erin Johnson of Pacolet, SC, Greg Eledge (Kim) of Colfax, NC and Jessica Eledge of Deerfield, FL. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
