He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dewey Heatherly and Pearl Heatherly; his wife Saundra Mae Heatherly; his sons, Kenneth Eddie Heatherly (Mandy), Nicky Lane Heatherly (Lisa), Darren Frank Heatherly and Dr. Steven Joel Heatherly; his grandchildren, Levi (Marina), Brittany (Jared), Cory (Brooke), Elizabeth (Phil) and Ben; his great grandchildren, Emarie and Jack; his siblings, Philip (Carolyn), Ronnie (late Carolyn) and Linda (Bill); his friend Dennis Hughes; and also Rachel (Alan).
