With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Mathes (Canton, North Carolina), who passed away on December 16, 2022 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hiram Taff Mathis and Lola Mae Revis Mathis; and his siblings, R. L., Fred, Vet, Grady Mathis, Earnestine Mathis James and Cora Mae Mathis Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Rachel Darlene Mathis Cayton (Brian) of Clyde and Jerry Allen Mathis (Sharon) of Candler; his granddaughters, Candra Lia Thomason (Dylan), Brianna and Rachel Mathis of Asheville; and his great grandchildren, Asher Bennett and Cash Inman of Clyde. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
