It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Genell Margaret Burnette (Canton, North Carolina), who passed away on August 21, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, D. A. "Alden" Caldwell and Margaret Rathbone Caldwell; her son Michael Albert Burnette; her husband Jesse Albert Burnette Jr.; her siblings, Faye Smith, Fanneta Taylor, Pearl Allen, Valerie Hembree Bassell, Phoebe Hartness, Brown, Reece and Kenneth Caldwell; and her great grandchildren, Eleanor Burnette and Lena Isabelle Smith.
She is survived by: her children, David Albert Burnette (Diane), Mary Genell Burnette and Mary Burnette Medford (Norman); her grandchildren, Casey Burnette (Becca), Jessie Burnette (Megan), Jimmy Burnette (Becca), Becky Burnette Smith (Patrick), Amy Medford Rathbone (Joseph) and Austin B. Medford; her great grandchildren, Pearl Burnette, Iris Burnette, Faye Burnette, Cora Burnette, Branson Burnette, Jeremiah Burnette and Ellie Burnette; and her aunt Ginny. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
