He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Newton and Ida Buchanan Franklin; and his niece Krystal Brooke Woodard. He is survived by: his wife Nira Cope Franklin; his son Travis Wayne Franklin; and his siblings, Teresa Kesselring (Pete), Rhonda Woodard (Tommy), Jimmy Franklin, Timmy Franklin (Doris) and Wesley Franklin Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
