He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie H. Fortner Sr. and Nellie Cochran Fortner; his daughter Cynthia Renee Fortner; and his siblings, Reba Jean Fortner, Jimmy Richard Fortner and George Lee Fortner.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Fortner; his children, Duke Fortner and Carla Fortner; his grandchildren, Makayla Jenkins, Hailey Jenkins, Dylon Fortner, Hunter Fortner and Edge Fortner; and his siblings, John H. Fortner Jr. and Joyce Faye Ball (Sue). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
