He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Vernon "Bood" and Velma Parris Loftis; his wife Shirley McGugan Loftis; his sons, Vincent Loftis (Rhonda) and Vernon Loftis; his grandchildren, Brittany Loftis of Bryson City, Dustin Loftis (Sesalee) of Bryson City, Kelly Parton (Landon) of Bryson City and Logan Loftis of Bryson City; his great grandchildren, Briaunna, Paitten, Kaylee, Cabe, Brennley, Preslyn, Ridge and Bood; and his siblings, Harold Loftis (Virgie), Billy Wayne "Cotton" Loftis (Annette), Janette Bowers (late Buford), Geneva Nations (late Max) and Lillian Loftis.
