She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Cochran and Katie Jenkins Cochran; her husband Paul Edward Gibson Sr.; her son Paul Edward Gibson Jr.; and her siblings, Ruth Askew, Hazel Wilson, Grace Dunning, William Cochran, Robert Cochran, Lewis Cochran, Enoch Cochran, Curtis Cochran and Donnie Cochran.

She is survived by: her children, Catherine Finch of Tennessee, Caroline Kirkland of Bryson City and Kenneth Gibson (Camilla) of Bryson City; and her stepgrandson Jeff.
