He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" and Florence Thomas; and his brother Bill Thomas, Jr. (Shirley). He is survived by: his wife Vera Thomas; his sons, Michael James Thomas, David Brian Thomas and Brian Wesley Thomas (Missy); his siblings, Buddy Thomas, Johnny Thomas (Alice), Sally Dickens (Jimmy), Ann Whisenant (Danny) and Fernia Simpson (Mike); his grandchildren, Darian Thomas and Seth Thomas; and his stepgrandchildren, Ashton Pearce and Luke Faircloth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
