He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Stitt and Rosalie Burns Stitt; his daughter Debra Wilson; and his sister Pam Atkins. He is survived by: his wife Penny Cochran Stitt; his children, Shaness Farrell (Peter) of Princeton, NJ, Andree Robinson (Ronnie) of Whitter, NC, Jeri Johnson of Dallas, Texas. and Randall Stitt (Amy) of Atlanta, GA.; his brother Jack Stitt (Lois) of Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Virginia Farrell, Susan Farrell, Blair Russo, Kelly Lehmann, Clayton Robinson, Brandee Robinson, Janel Mortenson, Kelsey McKeaige and Cody Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 370 Broadway, NC 27505 to assist with funeral expenses.
