He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brothers, Richard Wayne McCracken of Brevard, NC and Robert Douglas McCracken of Frederick, MD; his parents, Roy Franklin McCracken of Brevard, N. C and Eva Naomi Jenks; his daughter Alice Fanning; his stepchildren, David Strickland, Shirley Strickland, Wilma Strickland and Frank Jackson; his siblings, Linda Mae Hovernale of Big Pool, MD, Nancy Carol Foster of Taylorsville, NC, Nancy McCracken Galloway of Brevard, NC, Robert Eugene McCracken of Brevard, NC, Rebecca McCracken Hunter of Asheville, NC, Sheila Lantz Wallace of Charleston, SC, Eston Leo Lantz, Jr. of Capital Heights, MD and Virgie Lantz Heath of Brevard, NC.; his grandchildren, Tyler, Gage and Brandon; his wife Alma McCracken; and his close friends, Bunny and Brownie. He was also cherished by 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as his extended family and community of friends.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to Carr's Hill Baptist Church.
