He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Gash Johnson and Willie Mae Garret Johnson; and his sister Harriett Johnson Singleton. He is survived by: his uncles, Johnny Holmes, George and Rotary Boys Choir; his wife Kathryn "Kitty" Mitchell Johnson; his children, Kathryn Ailene Johnson of Greenville, SC and Keith Mitchell Johnson (Lynne Johnson) of Charlotte, NC; and his granddaughters, Miriam Johnson and Alexandria Johnson.
