He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Smith and Carretta Murrell; and his son Timmy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith of Beaufort; his children, Wallace Smith of Beaufort, Angie Smith of Beaufort and Nicky Smith of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Quincy Smith of Harrells, Alex Riggs of Beaufort, Charity Wallace of Beaufort and Joi McClean; and his siblings, Primrose Smith, John Smith, Odzell Smith of Beaufort and Dorleana Smith of Beaufort. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
