He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Tanner and Zelda Mae Owens Tanner; his sister Dian Autry; his brother-in-law Billy Ray Haney; and his grandson Adam Gunkel.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Joyce Tanner of Roseboro and Robert Keith Tanner (Cathy Gunkel Tanner) of Fayetteville; his sisters, Vivian Haney of Roseboro and Silvia McLamb of Roseboro; his brother-in-law Jerry Autry; his grandchildren, Raevyn Tanner, Blake Thornton of Roseboro and Kaylee Tanner Hope (Taylon Hope) of Fayetteville; and his great grandchild Ryder Keith Gunkel of Fayetteville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
