He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Stanley, Sr. and Ruby Benson Sales; his former wife Clara Fann Stanley; his wife Romelia Autry Hall Stanley; his son Dennis Stanley; and his siblings, Ruth Jones, Johnnie Stanley and Clyde Stanley.
He is survived by: his sisters, Peggy Autry (Douglas) of Autryville and Carolyn Knowles of Salemburg; his sister-in-law Debbie Stanley of Richlands; his stepdaughters, Betty Hall (Ottis) of Autryville and Penny Smith (Lee) of Newton Grove; and also Pat Tyndall. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
