He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Walton Trogdon, Sr. and Thelma Banks Trogdon; his grandson Jayden Montgomery; and his siblings, Earl Walton Trogdon, Jr. and Joyce Brantley.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jessup Trogdon; his daughters, Crystal Barker (Kenneth) of Asheboro and Jessica Palmieri (David) of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Peyton, Devin, Jamyn Barker, Cameron, Logan and Ashton Palmieri; his brother Randy Trogdon (Donna) of Georgetown, SC; and his pet Duke.
