It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Janice Dunlap Wright (Asheboro, North Carolina), who passed away on March 16, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Buren and Lora Mae McNeill Dunlap; and her sister Carolyn Cheek. She is survived by: her daughters, Kimberly Phipps (Cliff) of Florence, SC and Kristen Wright Vickrey (Kerry) of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Danielle Luck Truong (Thomas) of Garland, TX and Karis Wright Rowland of Asheboro; her stepgrandchildren, Remy of Raleigh, Cameron Phipps of Raleigh, Lauren Vickrey of Liberty and Kelsey Vickrey of Asheville; her great grandchildren, Riley and Camdyn Truong; and her siblings, Linda Brady of Robbins, Wanda McNeill of Asheboro and Randy Dunlap.

Memorials may be made to East Side Baptist Church, 1616 E. Dixie Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203.

“My love, thoughts and prayers are going out to each one of you! Aunt Janice was truly a remarkable lady, beautiful inside and out and I will miss her dearly! I've been remembering all the summer visits I had when I was growing up and they bring tears to my eyes and a smile to face. She always made me feel welcomed and loved. She was the "cool" aunt, who let me and Kim stay up late and do what we wanted. Those were good times! Love you Aunt Janice.”
