He was predeceased by: his father John "Mac"; his son Nathan; his stepfather John Norris; and his siblings, Johnny, Ricky, Debra Luther (Rush) and Janie Kellem (Rush).

He is survived by: his mother Levena Rush Norris (Pharr); his wife Barbara Jean (Lunsford); his son Ruben (Trisha); his granddaughter Emmarie Cate; and his sister Vickie Antrim (Rush). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
