She was predeceased by: her parents, James McKenzie and Bessie Burrow McKenzie. She is survived by: her husband Luther Thomas "Tommy" Smith; her brothers, James "Jimmy" McKenzie (Susan) of Asheboro, Larry McKenzie (Christy) of Asheboro and Tim McKenzie (Cathy) of Asheboro; her stepsiblings, Brenda McCoy of Asheboro, Ronnie Spivey (Mary Ellen) of Randleman and Dale Spivey (Denise) of Asheboro; and her stepmother Nellie McKenzie of Asheboro. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
