She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Cross and Mabel Johnson Cross; and her husband John David "J. D.". She is survived by: her daughter Vicki Garner Poindexter; her son-in-law William "Billy" Poindexter of Franklinville; her grandson William David Poindexter (Chelsea Butcher) of Durham; and her siblings, Shirley Pugh (Floyd Pugh) of Staley and Herbert Cross, Jr. (Peggy Cross) of Randleman.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions the family will have a private graveside service at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, 2930 Whites Memorial Rd., Franklinville with Rev Joel McDuffie officiating.
