She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Jesse Brown and Nettie Jane Newsom Brown; and her husband Joseph "Joe" Lucas. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Taylor (Russ) of Asheboro, Wanda Blanton (Larry) of Asheboro, Susie James (Terry) of Asheboro, Micheal Lucas (Emily) of Goldsboro and Tommy Lucas of Asheboro; her siblings, Pearl Goins (Elmer) of Asheboro, Gladys Nance of Asheboro, Raiford Brown of Asheboro and Cline Brown (Nancy) of Summerville, SC; and her grandchildren, Amy DeVaughn (Darrin), John Lucas (Lisa), Lynette Pate (Rusty), Matthew Taylor (Allison), Aaron Beane (Andrea), Luke Beane (Autumn), Chris James and Chad James (Miranda).
