He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert White Austin and Lossie Belle Tickle Austin; his wife Mary Austin; and his granddaughters, Jessica Austin and Brandi Cooper.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa L. Cooper (Rob) of Asheboro and Earl Austin of Greensboro; his siblings, Patsy Abraham (Jim) of Burlington and A. C. Austin of Reidsville; and his grandchildren, Ryan Austin, Lea Austin, Troy Austin, Fara Austin, Austin Grace Cooper, Jessica Wesolowski, Kristin Cooper, Luke Cooper and James Shawn Walsh.
