She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Abernathy and Ethel Sisk Abernathy; her husband Sankey Overton, Jr.; and her siblings, Evelyn Hedrick, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Ralph and Russell Abernathy.
She is survived by: her son Rick Overton of Asheboro; her granddaughter Alecia Overton Benware (Brandon) of Asheboro; and her great grandchild Asher Benware of Asheboro.
