He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd G. Rains and Hilda Saunders Rains; and his brother David Rains. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Aldridge Rains; his sons, William Rains of Archdale and Gregory Rains of Archdale; his siblings, Jeffrey Rains (Jenny) of Trinity and Barbara Rains Harper of Archdale; and his sister-in-law Sandy Rains of Archdale.
