She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Stradley and Lois Alexander Stradley; her husband Elvin Bethea, Jr.; her son Danny Smith; and her sister Shirley Whitley.

She is survived by: her children, Nelson Smith (Kathy), Johnny Smith (Dorothy) and Georgia Troxel (Larry England); her siblings, Rhonda Couzens (Guy) and Keith Stradley (Peggy); and her grandchildren, Amanda, Steven, Shannon, Michele, Kathryn, Nancy, Joseph and Tabitha. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
