With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Mahala of Albemarle, North Carolina, born in Spencer, North Carolina, who passed away on October 2, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Ray Keller and Loma Louise Beaver Keller; and her grandson Preston Casteen. She is survived by: her children, Leah Haywood (Chris) of Berwick, LA and Jason Trent Casteen of Norwood, NC; her grandchildren, Jerrod Coley (Emma), Evan Coley, Elijah Casteen, Lydia Casteen and Jade Casteen; her great grandchildren, Liam Coley and James Coley; and her sister Judy Cochran (Rodney).
