He is survived by: his parents, James Welter and Delores Welter (Parks) of Havre; his wife Lori Welter of Great Falls; his children, Alexis Barnes (Joel) of Humbolt, TN, Tristan Welter (Nicole) of Boca Raton, FL, Preston Welter of Havre, Kristi Riggin (Jeromy) of Great Falls and Shaundel Boyce (Matthew Cullen) of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Jayce, Gracie Riggin, Ali Barnes and Jameson Cullen; and his siblings, Teresa Welter (John Keeley) of Havre and Byron Welter (Robyn) of Havre. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
His family has suggested memorial donations be made in Butch's memory to the Friends of Beaver Creek Park for Camp 39 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
