He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans Gaarder and Alma Gaarder; and his sister Donna Underdal. He is survived by: his son David (Donna) of Colleyville, TX; his wife Inez of Great Falls; his daughters, Kristine MacIntyre (Don) of Helena, MT, Kari Ratliff of Great Falls and Diane Zimmermann (Dennis) of Puyallup, WA; his brother Donald Gaarder (Alta) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Ben MacIntyre (Lindsey), Shane MacIntyre (Catrina), Karsten Gaarder (Stephanie), David Zimmermann, Jordan Ratliff (Kelsey), Spencer Ratliff, Taylor Ratliff, Kelsi MacIntyre, Bria Zimmermann, Karli Zimmermann (Henrik) and Annie Rich (Derek); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte MacIntyre, Elle Ratliff, Emery Gaarder, Leona Zimmermann, Billie MacIntyre, McKenzie Rich, Weston Rich, Logan MacIntyre and Ollie Ratliff. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren on the way; and special nieces and nephews.
