She was predeceased by: her parents, Dovie Alday and Theodore Elliott Holden; her husband Leon Betterton; and her brothers, Robert Holden and Elliott Holden.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Murray (Eugene) of West Point; her brother Shelton Williams (Marilyn) of Slate Springs; her grandsons, Andy Murray (Rosonna) of West Point and Jonathan Murray of Hamilton; and her great grandchildren, Adrianne Lancaster, Christina Murray, Dakota Murray and Robert Waller (Biquiana). She is also survived by 6 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
