He was predeceased by: his wife Earline Hawkins; and his sisters, Zola Price, Dollie Henderson and Delia Jenkins. He is survived by: his children, Larry Hawkins (Ingrid) of Deining Germany, John H. Hawkins III of Cincinnati, OH, Levert Hawkins (Patricia) of Water Valley, MS, Ray Hawkins (Kathleen) of Water Valley, MS, Rev. Calvin Hawkins (Mary) of Water Valley, MS, Perry Hawkins (Mike) of Columbus, GA, Patricia Reed (John) of Water Valley, MS, Mona Hervey (James) of Water Valley, MS and Virginia Lewis (Stan) of Alabaster, AL; his granddaughter Delita White; and his nephew Arthur Smith. He is also survived by brothers; and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.

A private graveside service will be held for the family due to Covid-19.
