He was predeceased by: his parents, Commie Rubin Nowell and Mary Lee Britton Nowell; his wife Teresa Emrick Nowell; his siblings, Ruby Lee Wilson, Kathleen Mae Nowell, Eugene Nowell and Luther Nowell; his niece Kimberly Arnold; his nephew Greg Smith; and his half-sister Mickey Jones.
He is survived by: his sons, Rufus Dan Nowell, Jr. and William Kelly Nowell; his grandson Bradley Bosche; his siblings, Commie Rubin Nowell, Jr., James Earl Nowell, Viola Irene Harper (Robert) and Betty Toten (Pete); and his half-sisters, Helen Vandebrake, Mary Halverson, Roma Chavez and Patsy Heriford. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles nephews and nieces.
