It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Layne Holmes Sr. of Utica, Mississippi, who passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Willie "Bear" Holmes and Mary Frances Holmes; and his siblings, John William Holmes and Brenda Kinchen. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Layne Holmes, Jr. (Courtney Boone Holmes), Henry Isaac Holmes (Tara Purviance Holmes) and Angie Clarke (Aubrey Clarke); his grandchildren, Christopher Blake Holmes, Tiffany Nicole Clarke, Cameron Holden Holmes and Laynie Clair Holmes; and his brothers, Larry Holmes and Greg Holmes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
