She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kelvie Flynn and Alice Scarborough Flynn. She is survived by: her sister Patty Sue Flynn; her children, Raymond William Johnston (Julia) and Cynthia Johnston Douglas (Bud); and her grandchildren, Katherine Douglas Spencer (David), Emily Douglas Keen (Karl), Rachel Johnston Sanchez (Alex), Ellen Johnston Porter (Jason) and Jackson Joseph Johnston.

Betty also volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association MS Chapter.
