He was predeceased by: his parents, John Williams Wilkes and Myrtle Mulanax Wilkes; his wife Oneda Langston Wilkes; his sister Oveda Tidwell; his great grandchild Aubrey Caroline Patterson; and also Dr. Nikki Shoemake-Patterson.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Kay Wilkes Patterson of Terry, MS; his grandchildren, Jason Patterson of Starkville, MS and Renee P. Lewis (Justin) of Cummings; and his nephew Ronnie Peoples. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
