She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvie Barrett and Mable Barrett; and her siblings, Loretta Barrett, Robert Barrett and Wesley Barrett.

She is survived by: her husband Clyde Carpenter of Terry, MS; her sons, Jeff Carpenter (Stefanie) of Madison, MS and Steven Carpenter (Josie) of Brandon, MS; her grandsons, Reed Carpenter and Tate Carpenter of Madison, MS.; and her siblings, Virginia Pace (Sammy) of Hattiesburg, MS, Vicky Jones (Sid) of Brandon, MS, Patricia Woods (Jeff) of Forest, MS and Scott Barrett (Amy) of Angier, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
