He was predeceased by: his parents, James Melvin Pilgrim and Cannon Louise Fant Pilgrim; his siblings, James Melvin Pilgrim, Jr., Billy Joe Pilgrim, Jimmy Jerel Pilgrim, Willard Burl Pilgrim, Charles Ray Pilgrim, Johnny Pilgrim and Willie Francis Pilgrim; and his stepmother Francis Pilgrim.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Magdalene Smith, Edna Lou Powell and Dorothy Joyce Brownlee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
