He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Golden Pilgrim and Ella Mae Breland Pilgrim; his wife Barbara Jean Pilgrim; and his brothers, Wesley Eugene "Billy" Pilgrim, Prentiss Ray Pilgrim and Joe Bob Pilgrim.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Tyler of Melder, LA, James David Pilgrim (Amelia) of Roxie and Richard Pilgrim (Lisa) of Tioga, LA; and his sisters, Mavis Tyson (Lynn) of Lena, Mittie Barfoot (Bob) of Pearl and Jimmie Lynn Atkinson (Jimmy Joe) of Morton. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
