He is survived by: his wife Lula Richardson of Stonewall, MS.; his children, Patti Coats Ezell, Tim Coats (Shelley), Stan Coats (Sharon) and Kristi Coats; his grandchildren, Alan Coats, Carianne White, Brandon Ezell (Victoria), Carmen Ezell Hillman (Brad), Patrick Ezell (Barbara), Conner Coats and Courtlynn Coats; his great grandchildren, Ann-Hadli Ezell, Olivia Ezell, Dakota Ezell, Harper Hillman, Haze Hillman, Brees Ezell and Loden Ezell; and his siblings, Dennis Coats, Richard Coats (Phyllis), Douglas Coats (Sue), Larry Mosley and Laverne Holloman.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Coach Coats' honor to Petal Harvey Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi.
